Altain Khuder is a Mongolian registered mining and mineral exploration company. It was established in November 2006 with the primary objective to survey, explore, develop and mine iron ore at the Tayan Nuur mine in Mongolia and to sell, store, transport and export iron ore products to steel mills in China. The Tayan Nuur mine is located closer to the Mongolian-Chinese border than any other iron ore mine in Mongolia, situated approximately 168 kilometers from the border, and approximately 256 kilometers from Santanghu city, one of the primary delivery points for major steel mills in North-West China. It is well-positioned to exploit consumption growth in the rapidly developing regions of Gansu, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang. In August 2008, the Company secured its first long-term supply agreement with Bayi steel, a subsidiary of Baosteel and successfully carried out trial exports of iron ore lumps and iron ore fines in April and August 2009, respectively. Altain Khuder commenced official exporting activities in October 2009.
